THE MISSION

So here is a little bit of history….
The Focus Point started back on September 11, 2016, but at that time it was a blog called “Breathe” (and later called Second Stage Ministries. The reason why I started the blog back then was because God was teaching me a lot of things over the course of the summer of 2016 and I needed a place for it all to go. I currently teach 4th and 5th graders at my local church and I was at that time as well. But as I was studying and preparing lessons for them, I was also – because of the season of life I was in – learning at an adult level with adult situations that would not be appropriate to share with a group of 10-year-olds. So because I could not tell the students everything God was telling me I created the blog so my head did not explode. So the blog became an overflow of what God was teaching and showing me. Then videos and a podcast came too. I thank you for joining me on this journey. I hope that the content you find through this ministry will help keep your focus point JESUS!

ABOUT THE CREATORS

The Focus Point was born out of the overflow of what God has been teaching me throughout life as I read the Bible and listen to what others are teaching me about God. I needed somewhere to empty that information out.

My hope for this ministry is to offer little breaths of God to people who need them. (Which just might be everyone!)
​
I have earned a Certificate in Theology from Liberty University and I am continuing toward a Bachelor's Degree.
​
I also enjoy video games, playing with my kids and loving on my 2 dogs. I love to volunteer at my church. I currently volunteer with the 4th and 5th-grade students. I prepare and teach lessons to them once a month, and I also lead small groups. I just love seeing their faces as they have their God moments and begin to understand more about Jesus.

I'm just Jared... that's about it...
Ok, I guess I'll say something. I have a degree in Photography. While in college, I took some video and web design classes.
Using those skills, I manage the behind-the-scenes of this site and the videos. I'll also be working on our future projects that we are being hush-hush about.

ABOUT GOD
God is the Creator and Ruler of the Universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son
and the Holy Spirit.
These three are co-equal and are one God.
ABOUT JESUS CHRIST
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus was born of
Mary by miraculous virgin conception, lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days, demonstrating His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven and will return again someday to earth to reign as King.
ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides Christians with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer spiritual gifts when they are saved.
As Christians we seek to live under His control daily.
ABOUT HUMANITY
We are made in the image of God, to be like Him in character. We are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although we have tremendous potential for good, everyone is marred by an attitude of rebellion toward God called sin. Sin separates people from God.
ABOUT ETERNITY
People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life in Heaven. Heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence.
ABOUT SALVATION
Salvation is a gift from God to all people. Men and women can never make up for their sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can a person be saved from sin’s penalty.
When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved.
Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
ABOUT THE BIBLE
The Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is God’s word to all. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.
